Which Cheese are You?
2008-07-02
Today's blog entry is on the whimsical side as promised. Cheese is, after all, not just a food to eat for sustenance. Rather, it is a flavor for the soul. The cheese we eat becomes part of who we are and we, in turn, become part of the circle of cheese.
Too cheesy perhaps?
With that behind us, let's proceed to this week's cheese question.
If you could be a type of cheese, which cheese would you be and why?
Madame le Fromage from New York (I hear that's really her name!) would be "freshly made buffalo mozzarella" because it's "shiny and sexy." Taryn from Atlanta would be "whatever the least favorite cheese is, because I wouldn't want to get eaten." And Mr. Cheese Whiz from New York (who I believe may have a thing going with Madame le Fromage!), says something similar as he would be "limberger because people would be less likely to stick a knife in me and eat me."
I don't know about you, but I've always thought fresh mozzarella was sexy! There's just something about the melt in your mouth creamy texture that screams oysters, chocolate, and champagne.
The need to avoid being eaten, as a justifiably fearful piece of cheese, is not something I had thought of. I suppose being sliced up and served on crackers isn't exactly the ideal situation one might hope for.
As for me, barring the fear of being munched on, I suppose I would enjoy my lactose tolerant life as a fabulously stinky piece of some kind of blue cheese because when I was in the room no one would be able to ignore me! (Does anyone think I may have abandonment issues?!).
So that's all for today, folks. Come back next week when we answer the question, "What's your favorite recipe featuring cheese?"
